Each year the Scholarship Committee, made up of 8 members, sends our EWG scholarship application to area high schools encouraging young women golfers between the ages of 14 and 18 to apply. Each winner was presented with a check for $1000 and a certificate of recognition at the chapter's annual Kick Off Event that was held on Feb. 10 at the La Cantera Golf Resort ballroom. The funds are to help support their golfing needs, which may include new equipment, travel expenses, and other related expenses. Each winner was given a round of applause after these comments were read by Linda Gaida, the 2006 Scholarship Chair.
